Wycliffe is a English television series by ITV which started in 1994. The series was recorded in Cornwall, in Southwest England. Detective Superintendent Wycliffe, (played by Jack Shepherd) with images of his family life is the central figure in this series that the 28 episodes would maintain until 1998.

Because the producers Jimmy Yuill (who played the role of Detective Inspector Doug Kersey) wanted to get from the series because of illness, (also when he again was better) decided to contribute to the series are also Shepherd stakes. Wycliffe was next to Doug Kersey in his investigations also assisted by Detective Inspector Lucy Lane played by Helen Masters.

The ranks at Wycliffe ran in the series had been were Wycliffe is a Commissioner, who also works at the recherche. In the first episodes, were Doug Kersey and Lucy Lane brigadiers (DS-s), and in the later episodes they were inspectors.
